What theatrical innovation did the playwright aeschylus come up with?

The playwright Aeschylus is famous for adding a second speaking role, called the antagonist.  He wrote tragedies about the difficult choices men were faced with and the outcome of those decisions. Some of his most famous plays include the Agamemnon and the Eumenides.
