"this feels like boot camp,” sampson whispered to rameck one night after lights out. "yeah, but it feels good, man. it’s like doing push-ups with my brain! ” what effect does the program have on rameck? he struggles to meet the physical challenges. he resents the limitations imposed upon them. he appreciates the academic intensity. he appreciates the instructor’s attitude.
