Why would the cessation of the slave trade make such an impact on those slaving nations and colonies in the americas? it would damage trade relations between the countries. as slaves were not being born in many countries, stopping the import of slaves would eventually dry up the supply of slaves. government officials would have to change laws in many of the colonies. women would no longer have a sugar or cotton supply back in britain
