What were two active and passive tactics african slaves used to fight back?

While there were several resistance movements by the Slaves in America, two passive-aggressive tactics included:

1. Running away: This was done either to escape a punishment, to simply escape from daily hard work and persecution and even just to annoy the their masters.
Running away was many times, temporary and slaves might return in a few days after meeting nearby relatives. Sometimes it was permanent and many slaves tires to reach Northern States and even Canada where slavery was being abolished.

2. Sabotage: In order to vent frustration, many slaves would sabotage the farms and plantations they worked on. They would break tools, misplace items, and sometimes even not work on the plantations properly so that they could incur a loss for their master.

In a society where Africans were seen as slaves and were a minority, it was hard for these slaves to confront their masters. It was common to hurt slaves and even kill them without a lot of legal back lash.
