What were the main effects of the punic wars on the roman republic?

The main effects of the Punic War on the Roman Republic are first, it gave full control of Corsica and Sicily to the Rome. Because of this full control, the Roman Republic greatly benefited from conquering Sicily. They were able to use Sicily's minerals and natural resources which helped Rome gain profits. Aside from gaining full control of Sicily, Rome also gained control of the territories of the Carthaginian within Spain. Because of this, Rome became known as the thriving export trade region and a base of rich resources. Rome was able to gain copper, iron, and silver, and at the same time, they were also able to gain agricultural fish and products. Lastly, one lasting and significant change to the Roman Republic was the increase of use of slaves.
