I'd say peer pressure but thats just what i was tought in school when i was a kid

Some common reasons that teens begin to use alcohol is peer pressure. In many cases, teens are pressured into drinking because they think that it will prove that they are “cool”. Another reason is pure curiosity. Some teens may be curious and try it then they eventually get hooked on it which causes problems.
