When a child is born, its brain size is a lot smaller as compared to adults. The size of the brain keeps increasing during the first three years. By the age of three, the child has developed 80% of the brain. Both the surroundings and the genes influence the learning qualities of a baby. The baby will perceive more of what he sees and hears often. The baby can only see a few colors at the time of birth and is only able to properly see by six months. The size of the cerebellum rapidly increases during the first year enhancing a baby's ability to move, learn and interact with its surroundings.
