Especially within contact sports, there's is barley any media coverage for the female side of sport - especially in male dominated sports like rugby or football. This means then that female teams or clubs don't get sponsored (or not as much compared to males) through the national governing body of the sport. Now this is only for females participating in male dominated sports, and there is an increasing amount of media attention focousing on female sports, so the gap between se.xes in sport is decreasing.
