The distribution of the population according to religion, sex, caste, occupation, age, area of settlement, mother tongue, literacy, etc is called population composition.

Its importance are;

I) It helps to know about the population status of a country.

2) It's important in projecting the incidence of disease and death and thus, Health Care needs and demand.
