Identify and explain how the central nervous system is supported and protected.

The central nervous system (CNS) of humans includes brain and spinal chord which are responsible for integrating sensory information and responding accordingly. The spinal chord connects brain to the rest of the body. the brain integrates sensory information and coordinates body functions. Central nervous system requires special protection. The entire nervous system is protected by bone. The brain is enclosed in a  bony case called cranium and the spinal chord in the vertebrae. The cerebro-spinal fluid with the cranium protects from physical damage.
