1. The song "Run-Around" by Blue Traveler's begins with an allusion to Poe's poem, "The Raven": "Once upon a midnight, dearie," which is very similar to the first line of Poe's "The Raven": "Once upon a midnight dreary..."

2. The song "Murders in the Rue Morgue" by Iron Maiden has the same title as one of Poe's best known stories.

3. The TV show, "The Simpsons." During one of the second season episodes, James Earl Jones reads part of "The Raven," while Homer acts as the narrator and Bart as the raven. 

4. The Edgar Allen Poe Awards. Established in 1945, the Mystery Writers of America, Inc., uses this award to recognize outstanding contributions to categories of mystery, crime and suspense writing.
