Based on what you learned in the study, write a story about a character who is addicted to drugs, goes through the addiction cycle, and then breaks the addiction cycle. Be sure to include every step of the addiction cycle, in addition to the step of breaking the cycle.

A kid named James was very athletic and was on a baseball team, called the Red Caps.

He was outfielder and was participating at a game that would see if their team would make it to finals. Their team worked hard for 3 years for this moment to come. When the batter of the opposing team hit the ball, it could have landed right in his hands and they would’ve won the game. Instead, he froze and missed the catch, and they lost. After the game, his teammates hated him and he was depressed for some time. A guy saw how depressed he was acting and took advantage of him. He gave him some drugs(of ur choice), and he tried it. He told him self he wasn’t an addict and just did them every once in awhile. He thought the drugs were giving him therapy and taking his pain away. Every once in awhile, turned into every month, into every week, and into everyday. He kept telling himself he wasn’t addict. Doing the drugs were distracting him from completing school work, and his grades plummeted. His family worried about him, but he locked himself in his room taking drugs. He became even more depressed knowing he was going to fail school. One night he was so sad, he did too much that he passed out with his mouth foaming. Luckily his mother came in, and hurried him to the hospital. They diagnosed it was an overdose and he had to go to therapy and rehab. They took him away from any form of drugs, and they spoke to him on why he was doing them. Speaking and finding other substitutes for drug helped him with his addiction. It took him some time to become accustomed to the changes, but he found that playing instruments helped him with his cravings. His sanity once returned to him and he became happier. He learned about the negative effects of drugs and never touched one ever again. He came to realize he was addicted and was glad he was stoped. He got his grades back up and is now a master at playing the piano, violin, and flute.
