The opioid crisis in America is the worst it has ever been. Everyday 128 people overdose on opioids. The drugs attack every organ in the body, they tend to start with the brain. You need your brain to complete almost all tasks in your daily life but when you take drugs it begins to deteriorate your brain functions. The drugs interfere with the way that neurons send, receive, and process signals.

Some drugs like marijuana mimic your body's neurotransmitters which lets them attach to the neurons and be released through the body like that. Other drugs like cocaine can cause the neurons to release abnormally large amounts of natural neurotransmitters or prevent the normal recycling of these brain chemicals by interfering with transporters. This too amplifies or disrupts the normal communication between neurons.

Drugs even after one use begin to alter your brain functions and people tend to become addicted after one use and this causes several issues with people's future.
