Does the media influence how men perceive their bodies? Why or why not?

As a girl I believe men do perceive their body because I feel that many girls want a man with a nice body which makes many men insecure with themselves. Same thing with us girls, boys want a girl with a nice body and we become insecure and then we want to change that about us.
