Basketball players need all of these physical attributes because they all contribute to a basketball player's ability to succeed on the court. Cardiovascular endurance and muscular endurance are essential because basketball games are long and require a high degree of endurance to maintain the players performance throughout the game. Coordination and speed are necessary because basketball is a sport which takes a lot of technical skill, but also requires players to be fast to move up and down and around the court quickly. Body composition, balance, and agility are all also essential physical attributes of a successful basketball player.
