One point per question. All questions must be answered. No partial credit. This is not a groupproject. T. N. is a 79 year old woman with a history of a-fib, HTN, hyperlipidemia and DVT. This morning after breakfast she was cleaning the dishes when she began having difficulty saying words and dropping things out of her right hand. Her husband also noticed a right-sided facial droop and right leg weakness so he brought her to the ED. A CT scan of the head was done that was reported as no intracranial hemorrhage and negative for CVA. She continues to have expressive aphasia and right hemiparesis, NIHSS=14. She had a recent cardiac stress test that was normal and her blood pressure has been well controlled. Her current medications are amlodipine, aspirin, simvastatin, ramipril and carvedilol.
