Micronutrients are the organic compounds required by body in smaller amounts in contrast to macronutrients like proteins, carbohydrates and fats which are required in larger amounts. They include both vitamins and minerals. Most vitamins and minerals can not be produced by the body. They are important for growth, immunity and brain development. Vitamins can be broken down into smaller components while minerals cant be broken down further. Each food has different composition of micronutrients so every type of food should be consumed.

reality is fragmented and compartmentalized. one source of information is used to develop knowledge. thinking is inductive, proceeds from specific to general. focus is on detail.

learning occurs by following explicit directions and explanations of others.

an individual orientation is preferred for learning and problem solving.

speed is valued. how efficiently something is learned is important.
