EXPLANATION:

The pass laws were introduced in South Africa which was supposed to manage urbanization, separate the population, and allocate the various migrants and settlers hat came to the country for labor. These black South Americans were required to carry pass books when they were outside of their homelands or their designated areas. The law was resisted by right activists and nationalists due to its discriminatory nature. Due to the increase in resistance and protests in oppose to pass laws, it was finally repealed on the 23rd of July, 1986.
