Select three of the six countries for this task:
Fiji
Samoa
Solomon Islands
Tonga
Vanuatu
Use web resources to determine the exact location of your chosen countries. Then open this map of the Pacific World. Locate and add labels for the three countries on the map.
For the three countries you selected, refer to Task 1 to find each country’s trading partners. Then represent these relationships on the map following the steps below:
Create a legend on the map using one color to indicate exports and another to indicate imports.
Draw arrows on the map to show the flow of economic activity between the countries and their trading partners. Use the proper colors to show if the arrows represent imports or exports. The direction of the arrows should also accurately indicate import or export activity.
If a trading partner nation is not shown on the map, make an arrow pointing to the general direction of that country and add a label for the country.
To see a sample map and get some mapping tips, view this mapping guide. The tips included in the mapping guide can be used as a reference but may not apply to all image or word processing programs. Your map can be copied from its current file and pasted into the program you choose to use for completing this task.
Save your map and upload it to dropbox.
