Why would geographers and sociologists group these faiths together in this way?

This is what it told me I should have for that question,

Abrahamic faiths have a common historical heritage: they originated near each other in the Middle East, and each faith recognizes the importance of certain historical figures and prophets. All three faiths are monotheistic, and they share common holy places.
