How have technological advances in transportation made migration easier, from the age of exploration to modern times?

Before it would take ages to migrate from place to place. They used to use animals for transportation such as donkeys, horses, camels, and etc. Now it might take maximum one week if you consider taking a boat. It would take even less if you used a plane, for short distances, you can use cars.
