If the sun to produce light why is the outer space

Light doesn't travel through space because there is no atmosphere. Without atmosphere, light particles can't bounce off particles in the atmosphere to make color, so space is just black because of no atmosphere. If light cannot travel through space, then there can't be color, so we see black.
