They are important to sustaining the life cycles of thousands of marine species, to providing protection to shorelines and inhabitants living near coastal waters, to the economic survival. People can also make medications out of them to cure diseases

Fisharies, Tourism, Costal Protection, Source of Medical advances, Intrinsic Values.
