Later it was found that, in fact, Iraq did not have these weapons. Some critics said that the Bush administration deliberately used faulty intelligence to justify invading Iraq because president Bush wanted to bring down the dictator of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, because his downfall would serve American interests.
