How did the physical features of Europe influence medieval
settlements?

Europe has mainly benefited from its location and major physical features by having a temperate climate that sustains heavy use of agriculture, as well as possessing considerable natural resources.  The major rivers and peninsulas also provide easy access for transportation and resources from the sea (fishing).
