The Mediterranean climate is found in small pockets on numerous continents, being hot in the summers and mild in the winters, and it is economically important because of the agricultural aspect.

The Mediterranean climate is part of the temperate climate types. It is the warmest of them though. This climate is characterized by hot and dry summers, pleasant springs and autumns, and mild and rainy winters. The Mediterranean climate is found around the Mediterranean Sea, in part of California, around Perth in Australia, around Capetown in RSA, and in part of Chile.

The economic importance of this climate in the US is big because it is excellent for growing crops that have a high value on the market and or in high demand. Such crops are olives, almonds, grapes, oranges, and many others. For Canada's economy though, this climate doesn't have any importance because Canada doesn't have this climate in any part of its territory, so all benefits it has from it, are actually imports from other countries, primarily the US.
