Explain the impact gerrymandering plays on the political landscape in the United States. Is it positive? Is it negative? Explain.

Partisan gerrymandering oftentimes leads to benefits for a particular political party, or, in the then some cases, a race. State legislatures had then used gerrymandering along the racial or ethnic lines both to decrease and increase minority representation in state governments and congressional delegations.
