The eye is the region of generally calmer weather conditions that forms in the center of strong tropical cyclones. This approximately circular region usually has a diameter of between 30 and 65 kilometers and is surrounded by the wall of the eye, a ring of convective storms where the second most severe conditions occur in the cyclone. The lowest atmospheric pressure is recorded in the eye, where it can be up to 15% lower than the pressure outside the storm.
