Write a 1-2 page paper defining and differentiating between the two worldviews detailed in this week's lecture. describe which

worldview you most closely identify with? explain your reasoning and support your thinking with credible sources

this weeks lecture: nvironmental philosophy

each of you has your own personal worldview. your worldview is how you view our (human) place and role on the earth. when considering your environmental worldview, there are two competing environmental worldviews that are radically different from each other. the worldviews are either anthropocentric or biocentric.

the western worldview is anthropocentric and holds that humans as the supreme species are dominant over all other species and therefore only have an obligation to humans. in this worldview, humans have unrestricted access to all of the earth's resources to use as we see fit.

the deep ecology worldview is biocentric and proposes that humans have a moral responsibility for all species, not just our own. people who hold this worldview believe all species have a right to exist and don't differentiate humans from other species.

as you can see, the two worldviews are very different. one believes humans are dominant while the other believes we are equal.
