Remote sensing is done through the satellites in space with spaceborne sensors that are either active or passive depending on the necessity. The active remote sensing uses a source of light that is provided to the sensor system soams it can capture images or data without natural lighting conditions. While a passive sensor mounted n a satellite does not have its own original source of light it relies on the light obtained from the natural solar system. The natural light illuminated the object on which it focuses on and captures data and thus saves energy. The use of flash or an infrared beam of the laser is used to highlight the object. As all of these are based on the reflectance property of light that reaches the camera.
