As all organic matter consists of carbon , inorganic carbon is extracted from ores and minerals. DOC is abundant in minerals and freshwater. Also, forest fire on shrublands kills bacteria and fungi in soil surfaces. Loss of soil matter and increased bulk density can decrease the water keeping the holding capacity of the soil. Surface erosion by wind or gravity can also increase when ground cover.
