Difference between weathering and erosion

Explanation:

Weathering is the physical and chemical breakdown of the rocks due to weather conditions. Occurring mainly through the action of wind, water, and temperature on rock and transports the objects to a new location.  Erosion is the removal and transport of surface material, through the action of wind, water, and ice. It occurs slowly over a period. Such as migration of dunes etc. Both are caused due to similar factors.  

There are three types of weathering i.e physical, chemical and biological, while erosion types are wind, water, man and animals, ice, etc.

The process of erosion first breaks the rocks down and then mixes it then transports it and finally deposits. Thus involving use of geomaterials. Erosion is a large process encompassing the entire earth and this includes weathering.
