one of the biggest threats to the oregon coast is the impact of a tsunami as a result of an earthquake at the cascadia subduction zone. the most recent event occurred in january 26, 1700 and was estimated to be a magnitude 9.0 or larger earthquake, and we are overdue for the next one. do you feel the state of oregon is prepared for responding to such a catastrophic earthquake? why or why not?
