Je suis heureuse parce que l'anniversaire de ma sœur arrivée.- change arrivée to the present tense verb
(I am happy because my sisters birthday is coming up.)

Je suis triste parce que je aller chez moi.- CV - aller needs to be conjugated
(I am sad because I have to go home.)

remember also peur is an expression used with avoir not etre
