In american history, immigration has played an integral role in society. in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, first-generation immigrants who came to the united states often dealt with language and social barriers. in the late twentieth century, second- and third-generation immigrants faced the challenge of following their traditional heritage and fitting into american society. consider how cultural diversity defines american society and literature. is the american identity static or fluid over time? how do you define your cultural identity?

i highly recommend james madison. the work is simple and if you stick to it you can graduate quickly. the work is simple and the teachers are very interactive. the flow of the school work is all on your time so it's not really a dead line. go on their website and look at pricing and enrollment plans. i know when i signed up i got a discount. you pay a certain amount of money every month. it's kind of expensive but i did it in 6 days tops with just my senior year left : )

wordsworth tends to see nature as 'out there'; a presence which surrounds humans, and contributes to human life, but is different from humans. if you look at a typical wordsworth poem (there was a boy, ye knew him well ye rocks) - wordsworth talks about nature as something that needs to be learned about and understood, nature is different from us.  

if you look at a byron poem (the isles of greece is a good one) - byron looks at nature mainly for what it already means to man. wordsworth will look at a landscape and see the mountains, trees, valleys, and rivers as almost spiritual presences - wordsworth wants to get to know nature.  

byron will look at the same landscape and he will want to know who lives there, what are the villages? are there any farms or mines, is there some history?  

wordsworth looks at nature for what it is; byron is forever asking what it means.  

wordsworth thinks that humans are part of nature; byron thinks that nature is part of being human
