The answer is: mysterious.

Throughout the passage there are several clues to admit that its mood is of a mysterious nature. As such we can analyze these figures: the light, metaphorically, as that which would uncover something secret, but that is barely is to enter through the only window; Billy, staring at the door, wondering what lies behind it, what secret it conceals; and, finally, Billy discovering that behind the wall lies nothing other than his own name. The mood of the passage is certainly mysterious.
