Symbolic logic is also known as philosophical semantics and it looks at the theories of meaning as well as signs and symbols, and it tries to form these elements into a symbolic language. Symbolic logic also tries to analyze the relations between signs and symbols and what they mean to each other. In practise, grammar and syntax are translated into symbols. This is to help philosophers write out complex arguments using symbols rather than phrases which might be confusing to the people reading the arguments. If the philosophers use symbols, as it helps avoid confusion
