As per the comparison with mountain the Grandpa is tall and always heading over the speaker , even though you may see the speaker not speak that much than also grandpa hovering over the speaker .

The Speaker is very much impressed by the appearance and attitude of the Grandpa  and thinking he will also be grown like him as strong as mountains .

The Motive of this story showing us as very grown old the skin and the appearance start changing and in the same way paint sheds.
