Both the excerpts from "The Departure" and "Going Back to School" bring in light the different emotions one pursues from Mother Nature.

In the first poem, the emotion of estrangement is portrayed by the author by suggesting the phrases like, "end of the day" and "sun comes down."

In the next poem, the character expresses his emotions regarding leisure by explaining the beauty of nature. The poet uses a laid-back script to portray this peaceful emotion.
