Why is it important to avoid using language that lends to doubt or uncertainty (like maybe, could, sometimes, somewhat, i think, i believe, in my opinion)? question 3 options: you want to sound like you know what you are talking about, it undermines your confidence in the topic. those words make you sound too intellectual and you don't want to intimidate the reader. it makes your essay longer than it is supposed to be and the focus will be buried in so many words. you don't want make the reader feel uncomfortable because your perspective is so strong.
