Formal. It brings a sense of maturity that is required for things like school reports and political articles.

C. Formal tone is the most appropriate for any type of report, which includes a social studies report as well.
If you want to sound academic, and appropriate for a school setting, you need to use a particular set of vocabulary in order to do that. Formal style of writing is quite appropriate for such a setting, whereas humorous and informal are used when talking to your friends, for example, and scientific is too serious for this topic.

when speaking or writing for the sole purpose of providing information in order to give audience members a good basis for making a decision, you would present an informative speech or essay. because you wouldn’t want to be persuading the audience by arguing for one type of exercise over the other, you wouldn’t choose a persuasive/argumentative technique. to fairly, and without bias, present information about the pros and cons of each type exercise, a compare/contrast, informative speech/essay would be the best bet.

answer: buck is a dog living a charmed life on the estate of judge miller, during the time of the klondike gold rush in 1897. he is the king of all the animals on the estate and as such enjoys special privileges, such as the run of the estate and the admirable position of being the judge's favorite dog.

this all ends the day he accompanies manuel on a walk through the orchard to a flag station, where manuel sells him to a stranger. manuel sells buck, because he has gambling debts he needs to pay and a family to support.

this one act changes buck's life irrevocably. it is the catalyst for the rest of the story about buck and his transformation from domestic pet to wild animal.
