Cite evidence and develop a logical argument for jocasta’s belief

Jocasta is Oedipus' wife, aka the Queen of Thebes. She is also Oedipus' mom. Creon and Jocasta are siblings.

Jocasta's main opinion of prophets, like Teiresias, is that they aren't true. She base her opinion on the fact that Laius went to a prophet and he told him that their son would kill Laius. Since she believes her son to be dead and her husband to have been murdered by a band of thieves, this seemingly disproves the prophecy that said Laius would die by his son's hand.

Jocasta does not believe in the divine prophecy and tells Oedipus not to trust in the words of the oracle.  She is less inclined to believe in the prophecy, first because she says that whatever happens is not the fulfillment of fate, but occurs by chance through a series of events that are unforeseen.

cassius, casca, and their allies plant false documents to manipulate brutus to join their cause to remove caesar. after doing so, they visit brutus at night in his home to persuade him of their views. there they plan caesar's death. brutus is troubled but refuses to confide in his devoted wife, portia. on 15 march, caesar's wife, calpurnia, urges him not to go to the senate. she has had visionary dreams and fears the portents of the overnight storms.
