In anger, Damis came out of his hiding place and denounced him. But Orgon instead threw his own son out of the house. Damis got so angry over Tartuffe's ability to have control over his father, he thought of taking revenge. But this plan was stopped by his uncle Cleante, the brother of Elmire.
