Why should i learn to read a play properly? explain thoroughly : )

Reading a play is very hard to understand verses watching a play. A single line of text followed by an action goes a long way and translates into how you are an action.

For instance:

Wiley: But Ma (pause) I love you so much {Wiley looks heartbroken}

There is so much emphasis an actor has to put on a few words for an audience to understand. That's why when reading a script you have to actually think about the context of whom is saying what. How said thing is being said and what actions are taking place during what is being said or after something is said.

As an actress myself I had to properly learn to read plays to pass a class because reading a play is not like a book. A lot more thinking goes into reading a play and truly understanding it! Learning to read plays opens a world to a person of things you may not have read before!
