What is an example of individualism in despicable me 1?

Hah. This one's pretty self-explanatory, in all honesty. Let's look at the main lead in Despicable Me. I'm pretty sure his name is Gru.

He and his ways are a perfect example of individualism, because he quite literally depends on no one but himself. No wife. No children. No best friend. He uses his minions (which are the cutest dumplings I have ever seen, may I add) to help him do his work when it comes to doing things physically. And the scientist? I forgot his name. He does all the experiments. But on the whole, Gru keeps to himself, and mentally and spiritually depends on no one, and used everyone else for his own needs.

He is very much dependent and self-reliant, which makes him a perfect example of individualism. But then those three little girls come in his way, and he lets his outer shell crack the slightest, but for the most part, he is an independent person.
