In orwell's book "1984", winston lives at “victory mansions,” drinks “victory gin,” and smokes “victory cigarettes.” when he can find them, he probably uses “victory” razor blades too. why is everything called “victory”? does it make people feel more positive about the future? what are some examples of this kind of naming in our own society?
