The Friar recognizing his part in the tragic out come of the play.
He meant well when marrying 13 year old Juliet, but went overboard with his authority when doing it without the permission of either parent. He went overboard once again, when he gave Juliet a drug that mimicked death, and fled when he lost courage. If he had of stayed with her, he might could have prevented the death of both Romeo and Juliet.
