The Declaration of Sentiments is a document written during the Seneca Falls which happened to be the first women's rights convention organized by women that took place in America. Although it was written based on the Declaration of Independence, its main purpose was to establish women's equal rights, discuss gender's unfairness and disadvantages at that time.

On the other hand, the Declaration of Independence is a document written by men which it established the separation of the thirteen English colonies from Great Britain and its independence.

Although both declarations fight for people's rights. The Declaration of Independence was about a whole country becoming free from another one and it didn't include women's participation. But the Declaration of Sentiments was a document issued by and for women.
