Why does rodriguez call himself “an impure american, an ambiguous american “? how does the info about his background affect the persuasive of his argument?

This is due to the complication of the elements of his name, the color of his skin and his heritage which makes the American conversation about race more difficult.

Actually his personal background had a decreasing effect on the persuasiveness of his argument. This is actually what we call a minority effect – people tend to less believe anyone who does not resemble his color or race.

Rodriguez writes in Blaxicans:

I am speaking to you in American English that was taught me by Irish  nuns—immigrant women. I wear an Indian face; I answer to a Spanish  surname as well as this California first name, Richard. You might wonder  about the complexity of historical factors, the collision of centuries, that  creates Richard Rodriguez. My brownness is the illustration of that  collision, or the bland memorial of it. I stand before you as an Impure-  American, an Ambiguous-American.

He claims that there is no logical meaning behind Pure-American concept. He lives inc the US and if it has to be defined you have to be an American or in other words Pure-American, then how many people are living in the USA that maybe they have to check their background. Ironically, it is nonsense because there is no logic behind it. Therefore, Rodriguez buries the claims of Pure-American by these lines.

use" was written by alice walker. this is a story about two sisters, dee

and maggie wanting to have the handmade quilt. maggie wants to use the thing

for its purpose, while dee appreciates it for being “her heritage”.   the quilt represents family heritage. it was

believed that only dedication and years of hard work can represent a  quilt. 

mama decided to give

the quilts to her less fortunate daughter, maggie because she believed that dee

could not hold the true meaning of their family heritage and   that she would not use the quilts for their

purpose. however, dee believed that maggie can’t appreciate the quilts just as

how she sees them, and she thought that the quilt will be put to “everyday use”

by maggie and within 5 years or so, the quilt will turn into a rag. in the story, dee strongly believed that maggie do not deserve the quilts.

well stockyards mean a large yard containing pens and sheds, typically adjacent to a slaughterhouse, in which livestock is kept and sorted. and i'm assuming that by party you   mean a large group of people which does make sense because chicago is a very crowded place much like new york. stockyards tend to take up a lot of room due to needing the area for pens to keep animals in and the fact that stockyards are usually right by slaughterhouse where they process and distribute the product. so its much like a zoo but with some dead animal products close by.
