Rhyme as a literary device is the repetition of words and phrases in poetry. Rhymes together create a rhyme scheme which represents the pattern of rhymes at the end of each line in a stanza. The latter is called a chain rhyming. However, it is also possible non-rhyming scheme to occur, as well. The technique paving the way to these methods is generally known as rhyming. Actually, rhyming or rhyming scheme is not limited with these methods. According to the 11th century Japanese classic, The Tale of Genji there are 52 possible rhyming schemes.
